Writing with Purpose: How to help students develop skills and material for admissions essays.

This presentation was prepared for the parents of students in grades 7-10 who attended MIT’s Educational Studies Program: SPARK. Parents received tips to improve their students’ reading and writing skills, with an emphasis on exploring interests and self-reflection. With practice, meaningful experiences and personal growth will become much easier to write about when students prepare their application essays.

The two Appendices include a Recommended Reading List and a list of Writing Programs, both online and within driving distance of MIT.
